Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 12 October 2026

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions cover use of chemfunatics.com and its enquiry process. ChemFunatics is operated by Emmanuel Ferrer Flegeau, based in Madrid, Spain. Contact: chemfunatics@gmail.com. The website provides educational information, free learning resources and information about possible services. An enquiry is not acceptance of a paid-service contract. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

2. Educational Purpose

ChemFunatics provides educational content designed to support students studying chemistry, including students following programmes such as IB Chemistry and A-Level Chemistry. Content available through the website may include: chemistry practice questions; worked solutions and explanations; educational videos; revision resources; information about tuition and mentoring; information about intensive courses and workshops; and other chemistry learning materials. These resources are intended to supplement, not replace, formal teaching, official course materials or guidance provided by schools, teachers and examination boards.

3. Practice Hub and Free Educational Resources

ChemFunatics may make chemistry questions, worked solutions and other educational resources available free of charge through its Practice Hub or elsewhere on the website. You may use these resources for your own personal, non-commercial study and revision. Unless expressly stated otherwise, access to free resources does not create a contractual relationship for paid educational services and does not entitle the user to individual tuition, personalised feedback or additional materials. ChemFunatics may add, update, correct, reorganise or remove free educational resources as the website develops.

4. Educational Services

You may enquire about private lessons, apply for mentoring, express interest in a small group, request a place on an announced intensive course or enquire about future masterclasses. An account is required to submit and review service requests; ordinary questions can be sent through the contact form without an account. Emmanuel reviews requests manually. Acknowledgement emails confirm receipt only: submission does not confirm a booking, time slot, place, group, admission or ticket. We reply within two working days, meaning Monday to Friday, including public holidays, in Europe/Madrid. A suitable option may not be available. Mentoring requires assessment and, if appropriate, a written proposal; a free discovery call does not guarantee admission. Groups are formed manually subject to suitable demand and availability. Intensive revision courses and masterclasses are announced periodically on the website. Submitting a request does not reserve a place or take payment.

5. Prices and Payments

Prices shown describe proposed services: a 55-minute private lesson is €60; a 110-minute private lesson is €110. Small groups are €160 per student per month for four sessions, normally 110 minutes, with a maximum of five students. Mentoring is assessed individually before a written proposal. These enquiry forms take no payment and create no subscription. Before any paid arrangement, the total price, applicable taxes, service details and payment conditions must be communicated and expressly agreed. No payment is currently requested through this enquiry process.

6. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Where a tuition session, course, workshop or other paid educational service is arranged, any applicable cancellation, rescheduling or refund conditions will be communicated as part of the booking process. Because different types of educational services may require different arrangements, the website does not currently establish a single universal cancellation policy for every service. Users should review the conditions communicated to them before confirming a booking. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to limit any mandatory consumer rights that apply under Spanish or European Union law.

7. Educational Outcomes

ChemFunatics aims to provide accurate, rigorous and useful chemistry education. However, academic progress depends on many factors, including the student's prior knowledge, participation, study habits, school programme and examination performance. ChemFunatics therefore does not guarantee any particular examination grade, academic result, university admission outcome or other educational result.

8. Accuracy of Educational Content

Reasonable care is taken to ensure that chemistry questions, solutions, explanations and other educational materials are scientifically and educationally accurate. Nevertheless, errors or omissions may occasionally occur. ChemFunatics may correct or update educational content when an error, ambiguity or improvement is identified. Students should consult the current official syllabus, specification and information published by their relevant examination board where authoritative programme or examination information is required.

9. Examination Boards and Third-Party Organisations

References to educational programmes, qualifications or examination boards such as the International Baccalaureate (IB) or Pearson Edexcel are used to describe the educational context for which ChemFunatics resources or services may be relevant. Unless expressly stated otherwise, ChemFunatics is an independent educational project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or officially connected with these organisations. Any trademarks, programme names and other protected identifiers remain the property of their respective owners.

10. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise indicated, the original content available on the ChemFunatics website — including original chemistry questions, worked solutions, explanations, educational text, graphics, videos, website content and learning materials — is owned by or licensed for use by ChemFunatics and is protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Users may access and use ChemFunatics materials for their own personal, non-commercial education and revision. Without prior permission, users may not: reproduce or republish substantial portions of ChemFunatics materials; sell or commercially distribute ChemFunatics materials; systematically copy, scrape or download the Practice Hub or question database; present ChemFunatics original materials as their own; remove copyright, attribution or ownership notices; or use ChemFunatics content to create or populate another commercial educational product, database or service. Normal sharing of a link to a publicly available ChemFunatics webpage is permitted.

11. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the ChemFunatics website in a way that: violates applicable law; attempts to interfere with the operation or security of the website; attempts to obtain unauthorised access to website systems or content; uses automated systems to extract substantial quantities of website content without permission; infringes intellectual-property or other rights; or uses the website for fraudulent, abusive or harmful purposes.

12. External Links

The website may contain links to third-party websites or services, including social-media platforms. These links are provided for convenience or additional information. ChemFunatics does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, terms or privacy practices. Visiting an external website is subject to that provider's own terms and policies.

13. Website Availability

The website and online resources may occasionally be unavailable during maintenance or technical interruptions. If a request cannot be submitted, contact chemfunatics@gmail.com.

14. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law. To the extent permitted by law, ChemFunatics is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting solely from reliance on free educational information provided through the website. ChemFunatics is not responsible for interruptions or problems caused by third-party services, internet connectivity, hosting providers or circumstances outside its reasonable control. These limitations do not affect any mandatory rights that users or consumers may have under applicable law.

15. Privacy

Please read the Privacy Policy at https://chemfunatics.com/privacy-policy and the notice in each form. Optional general updates are a separate choice; declining or withdrawing them does not affect an enquiry. Contact chemfunatics@gmail.com for privacy requests.

16. Minors

Enquiries are for students aged 16 or over. Adults aged 18 or over may enquire for themselves. For a student aged 16–17, a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or over must complete the form and act as the contact for proposed arrangements. Do not submit an enquiry for a student under 16. Do not provide identity documents, dates of birth, medical information, payment details or unnecessary personal information.

17. Changes to These Terms

ChemFunatics may update these Terms & Conditions as the website, educational resources or services develop. The current version will be published on this page together with its effective date. Accounts currently support submitting and reviewing requests; they do not activate payments or automatic bookings. Any future online booking, payment processing, subscriptions or other material changes will be explained before the relevant service is used.

18. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by applicable Spanish law. Where mandatory consumer-protection rules provide users with additional rights or jurisdictional protections, those rights remain unaffected.

19. Contact

For questions about this website, an enquiry or these conditions, contact Emmanuel Ferrer Flegeau, trading as ChemFunatics, Madrid, Spain: chemfunatics@gmail.com.
