GOOD TO KNOW

A few questions, answered.

Focused or Extended: which lesson should I choose?

Focused (55 minutes, €60) suits a specific question, a targeted topic or a shorter practice session. Extended (110 minutes, €110) allows more time to connect explanations with guided practice and exam questions. We recommend Extended for deeper work and sustained progress; choose Focused when your goal is narrower or a shorter session suits you better.

Which chemistry programmes do you teach?

IB Chemistry SL and HL, A-Level Chemistry and International A-Level receive equal attention. Teaching experience includes Edexcel IAS/IA2 and Salters-Nuffield A-Level. Tell us your programme and specification so the support matches what you study.

What does mentoring involve?

Mentoring is individual support shaped around your academic goals and the help you need over time. Start by describing your goals, programme and current challenges. Each enquiry is reviewed personally; a free 30-minute discovery call may follow. If there is a suitable fit, you receive a written proposal setting out the scope, schedule and price before deciding. Sending an enquiry does not confirm admission or reserve a place.

How do small groups work?

Small groups bring together up to five students with compatible levels, goals and availability. The current offer is €160 per student per month for four sessions, normally 110 minutes each. Groups are formed manually; registering interest does not confirm a group or place. We discuss programme, timetable and arrangements with you before you commit. IB and A-Level enquiries are welcome; different syllabuses are matched appropriately.

What are intensives and masterclasses?

These are live online revision sessions focused on a topic or a defined set of chemistry skills. Depending on the session, they combine explanations, worked examples, guided practice and exam technique. Topics, suitable programmes, dates, duration, price and registration details are announced for each event. An enquiry does not reserve a place or require payment.

What happens after I request a private lesson?

Create your account, choose a session and propose your preferred date, time and time zone. You receive a request acknowledgement. ChemFunatics replies personally within two working days to agree the lesson time. The session is only confirmed after the arrangements are agreed; do not pay until you receive instructions.

How are online lessons organised?

Individual lessons take place on Google Meet, in English, Spanish or French. Tell us your preferred session, availability and time zone when you request a lesson. A request does not automatically reserve a time. We agree the schedule and lesson details with you personally; after you accept them, we send the confirmation and joining link to you or your parent or guardian.

Who should submit a request?

Students aged 18 or over can request a lesson themselves. For students aged 16–17, a parent or legal guardian should create the account and submit the request. You can also email a question without creating an account.
